More Stories

The need for our services is overwhelming in the areas we operate. In just a few short months we have helped so many animals and we would like to share their stories with our donors, volunteers and general supporters. This is why we created this section on our website, for people to experience this journey with us and our beloved animals.

Meet Erin

Erin the young Pitbull was discharged today into the care of Judy Meyers from Love-a-Bull SA. Erin has made such good progress following her surgery for a badly broken leg, she still needs a period of cage rest, but will now experience a life of love and care for the first time.
We can’t imagine where Erin would have landed up had it not been for Jonathan & Tanya Zackey rescuing her from a trolley and obvious neglect, for the brilliant Dr’s and staff at Brackenhurst Veterinary Hospital and of course for Judy Meyers who didn’t hesitate to step up as a foster for her next stage of physical and mental recovery.
Erin steals the hearts of everyone that meets her, we know she has a really special future to look forward to and would like to thank everyone involved for all you have done!

Meet Stevie

Little Stevie from Brits had a serious fracture to his right femur, along with pelvic fractures. Dr Alley Hartley from Brackenhurst Veterinary Hospital operated on him to repair his femur, and he spent this week in their care. He improved daily. We were so excited to see him return to full health and are grateful for the amazing team at Brackenhurst Vet and for Annalene from Hearts of Compassion Outreach for everything they have done for him so far!
